Again a very interesting dragon design. There are lizards in the zoo here with a similar scale pattern (they look a bit like a pine, if you ask me) Might be because of this which makes me think of him as a desert dweller. Question: The creature on his side. You didn't mention it in the comment. Is it something he lives with in symbiosis? Or more like a parasite?

Kind of a mixture, Sandwing is undead, he was killed through peritonitis (from his gut being punctured in a fight) and those creatures are like the 'demonic appearance' of the leaking poisons that killed him.
