Very much 'touching', David! And sensitive too! I wish one could deliberately numb the brain, in order not to remember these things. And one could ask; ' why not to remember?' Because they are remembrances that do not bring joy. But again, who said we would experience joy all the time? A real 'tough' question. We just cannot 'let go' of things - at times! Tough, Tough, Tough!

As usual, Henry, you sum the matter up in a thoughtful and perceptive manner. Life goes on, memories linger for good or ill.

And that is one part or should I say, one of some of the parts in our lives that we have no control over - "memories"! If we were able to control that, we would choose only 'sweet memories'! Some if not most of the things, we have to endure and move on (painfully at times, though)!

Yep - she wanders in a world of her own, Penny. I'm sure at some level she does miss him, but has found rewards in the form of increased attention!!
Many Thnaks

Yes, she knows! Just that she may not talk the language that you understand on matters of this nature!

I think that's it in a nutshell, Henry. We don't really understand what goes on in the cat mind.
Many Thanks

She knows. Cats feel grief. When my father passed away his cat Misty, searched for him for many days.

Many thanks, Terry. Yes, I think they know when bad sad things happen. She did look for Tom for several days, but no longer.
Cheers
