Description Impala, one of my female Het Ghost ball pythons. She was balled up and this was how she unraveled...I don't think I can get such a perfect shot of a spiral like this again!

It also kind of reminds me of a cinnabon....damn it now I'm hungry!

Very beautiful little ball python. I love ball pythons, they make awesome pets and they look good while doing it , do you plan on breeding her?

Thank you. She definitely is a pretty girl in her own right. Hoping she'll give me some Ghost babies when I breed her to my Het Ghost ml.

TY. She is pretty. I know many are so wrapped up in all of the morphs that they don't even give normals, or hets that look like normals, a second glance. But I really do love the look of the wild type ball python just as much as I like all of the morphs.

I can't even begin to keep up with all the terminology on the morphs these days. In any case I look at the animal first, don't really care much about the pedigree.

Unless you are a breeder then you really don't need to worry about all of the crazy morphs. Not even my reptile vet has a clue about them! And it's not easy in keeping track with every single one out there for every species and that's one reason why you will see breeder that just specialize in one or two species. I'm pretty good with ball pythons and corn morphs b/c those are the two I have the most experience with. But as someone that just wants a nice pet snake you definitely don't need to be up on all of the morphs.

Even with the geckos there are all kinds of new morphs showing up. While it's great to see new and beautiful variations I am more concerned about the animal being healthy. I hope we don't wind up overbreeding the reptiles the way we have with dogs, creating all kinds of health problems while choosing for colors.

There all ready is a few issues associated with certain morphs. Like the Caramel in ball pythons. The gene is known to carry kinking of the spine. Now not all Caramels are kinked (it seems to run more in certain lines then others) but there definitely is all ready some health issues/deformities. Pinched noses, smaller eyes, and head wobble are a few others also showing up in certain morphs as well. Though I love morphs it's why I am so careful and make sure I get from the best stock when I am picking new individuals to add to my all ready existing breeders.

That's sad to hear. Just like dog breeds with so many health issues related to inbreeding. So important to bring in new blood. Too many people I think get into it without realizing the consequences for the offspring.

Yeah that is one of the problems. Again people not doing their research and breeding for their own quick "fix" and not thinking of what's best for the animals. Drives me CRAZY and gives good breeders a bad name.:/

That usually translates at doing it for the money. Sad to say but that's pretty much what we really worship in this country.

TY. I am breeding either her, or her sister, to my Het Ghost male this up coming season. Hoping I get good odds and at least get one or two Ghosts from the breeding! But in the long run as long as the babies are healthy that's what counts.

Awesome!
I've seen pix of the Ghosts before, they're ridiculously glamorous.
I love it, they're sooooo expensive though O.O

I wanna do that with Svet, she needs a honey xD
Is there any good books to kinda learn from to breed corn snakes?

PaganFireSnake In reply to Buhaaghule [2011-09-12 16:13:23 +0000 UTC]

Corns are easy to breed. Of course you have to wait until they reach a certain size (especially the females) and you will need to cool them down. I've breed them before so I'll make up a write-up for you on all of that. Just give me a week or so and I will have it for you.

Ghosts aren't that pricey...well with relation to some other morphs. But they are definitely stunning. Keeping those fingers crossed!
