Description Tried adobe illustrator's Live paint to create flat colors and lineart faster. turned out a bit sloppy on this piece but had decent success with the other ones.

The sacrificial piece that I ended up really liking so I decided to upload despite the messy lines and details.

Hi!

I love the colorful chaos in this piece. The background is a mess in the best way possible -- though there are so many different colors, you still group similar/complementary ones. The result, though chaotic, fits together and creates something grand and awe-inspiring. It truly feels like a throne -- for a rockstar or a famous voice actor, perhaps (the former because of the character's (yours?) looks and outfit, and the latter because of the samurai).

Speaking of the samurai, the way you play with the perspective and layers of "further/closer away" is a bit of a mind-screw -- it took me long, long time to realize the samurai isn't painted on -- not only it covers a part of the lamps but a piece of the bedframe as well. It's confusing but in a fascinating way -- it makes the viewer look twice -- or thrice...

I don't see the "messy lines/details" you speak of but I do see two tiny may-be-mistakes:

first, the book on the nightstand on our left, it seems to me like its center of mass is off the nightstand and the book would fall off, and also the perspective doesn't seem quite right to me. I think we should be able to see only less of the front cover.

second, the/your? right foot (keeping in mind the legs are crossed, I do mean the right foot) -- the perspective probably wouldn't make it look that small in comparison with the left one.

Other than that, though (and I had to focus to find these two points in the first place), this piece looks amazing -- it deserves to be one of the Daily Deviations. (congratulations, by the way!) It's so full of details, places, textures and colors to lay the eyes upon...

I hope my critique was helpful in some way. Keep up the great job, and good luck with your next pieces! Merry CRITmas!

You are welcome!
Critiques are all embracing and acknowledging the good but not shying away from what could be better. Glad to hear it comes across as honesty

"messy lines and details"

I dunno 'bout you, but I'm getting an Error 404 on those "messy lines and details"

I love the colors

And the details

And the composition

And the textures

And I don't know how you can sleep with a samurai hovering over the bed like that but it looks awesome

The crows look great too!

Very nice lighting as well!
