you dont need to apologize for taking your time, and making the piece everything you want it to be.
i know that when i rush things, the work suffers.
im never going to ask you to hurry.
i have been pushing bigger images and longer rendering times lately as well, and i believe, reaping better results.
ive begun to use Dof. more often when i have "cluttered" images to make certain aspects of it pop out.
i am working on my reply as we speak, and its taking some time to get the effects i want.
