Description A River Song collage. The character of River Song shares striking similarities with Persephone (taken from her mother as a child, dragged into the underworld, married life divided into her nights out with her husband and her days in prison), Eurydice (whose brutal loss will drive the hero into retirement from the world, the descent into Hell/Trenzalore, the last look and the inevitable fading away), as well as becomes death's bringer, multiple times, in the show. The bottom line is River fits the Death in bride's clothing to a tee and I love making collages.

This is amazing. And she fits it so beautifully. Alex herself has commented that she thinks she has a "historical" type look, and had worried she'd always be cast in historical type roles.

Which is one reason why I'm so glad she got to play futuristic River. (And to remind us, that even in today, beauty comes in all shapes and sizes.)

This fit her so beautifully and is integrated so smoothly I had to look twice to realize it was her.

Thank you very much! These collages are always fun to make, particularly finding a painting that fits a certain character; I am glad it worked here.

Alex Kingston has far too much spirit and spark to be confined to historical roles! But she also played one of the most historical fictional characters to date, River Song, so...

Merci beaucoup!
