Good work!
And the movie was fantastic. People shouldn't buy into all the nerd rage. For those who haven't: Go see it. They combined the two Mamoru Oshii movies, with a bit of SAC 2nd gig, created a clear origin for Kusanagi, and structured the narrative around an emotional center. Certain characters, corporations, and plot threads were combined or woven together to form a coherent story while still keeping key scenes from the GITS 1995 movie and also many elements from GITS 2: Innocence. The script does a good job of sourcing material from throughout the franchise's history.
The movie is not whitewashed at all, but to tell people why would involve spoilers somewhat. . . Keeping in mind that her body's artificial, I don't see why people have been complaining about race in casting here when the visual match is so strong. Including "Beat" Takeshi Kitano as Aramaki was a smart move for Japanese box-office appeal, Togusa's actor is Japanese, and the real Motoko and her family. . . ? Well, that involves spoilers.
The only thing with real room for improvement? The score. Kenji Kawai's "Making of Cyborg" was only in the end credits, and there's no Yoko Kanno sound to be found, either.
