Disney has an extremely loose definition of "Princess" when Mulan, Pocahontas, and Moana were not born from nor did they marry into royalty. Also I want to voice my disapproval of a screenshot from a movie trailer being uploaded onto DA.

There are certain requirements that need to be filled for a Disney female lead to become a Disney princess. Their movies have to be a box office hit, they must be or become human, must have been first seen in the first movie, and must either be royal, marry a royal, or perform a great act of heroism.
Pocahontis and Moana would be considered royalty in their respective cultures, and the 'Perform a great act of heroism' bit was actually created specifically for Mulan to qualify as a Disney princess.

Probably the thing that kills me with Vanellope though, even with her nearly being ganged up on by the princesses:

*reacts with disgust at the first sight of the princesses
