Okay while Cheren was in the main Pokemon anime series, he only appeared in one episode and during the N arc specifically rather than the beginning of the BW saga. Also I gotta be honest with you, the series missed out on an opportunity in actually having this guy in the mix right from the get go even though a friend of mine is fine with him debuting as the Aspertia Gym Leader but nevertheless. Not only this, but Cheren actually would've made for a better rival to Ash there than Trip did and especially as it would have been amazing to see how they utilized this character outside of the only episode they ever featured him in, sadly that was not the case but hey, my Pokemon head canon does fix this problem significantly. Okay, I am aware that here he would be the childhood friend/rival to Hilda and Bianca which helps to make things more faithful to the original Pokemon Black and White games although it is better than the train-wreck that the anime adaptation was as even the SM anime series was better than this. Anyways, I sure hope you like how this looks especially since I do like his team from B/W and even his story from said games themselves but then again, I really loved the story that Gen V had in general which adds to the disappointment in terms of the anime department.
