This is a some weeks old painting I made after watching Memoirs of a geisha for, like, the 20th time
I can't help it, I really love this movie and book 
Truth must be said, I lost inspiration very soon and it didn't came out how I wished, so it became pretty much a speed painting but I'm uploading it anyway...It's fun to make a comparison with the first Sayuri I drew years ago and see the differences

I really recommend it! The book is more detailed about Sayuri's story, it gives you a better insight of how fragile and cruel is the world of a geisha, and overall it's an immersion into Japan before and after WWII. It's a beautiful, bitter-sweet story and every word is like poetry. It's literally my favourite book ever, so if you have time please take the chance to read it, it's an awesome experience

if you dont believe me then do this. take an old art work. look at it for a few mins. do it again without looking. then compare. im very confidant that you will notice that your skills have improved
