Mephiles: Ooh damn. Do people hate Mephiles. Why do people hate Mephiles. a) Because he killed Sonic b) He's a "Shadow recolor" c) He's a villain that's WAY over hyped. I basically disagree with all of these.
He's a pretty well-developed villain. He's cunning, he's intelligent, he's manipulative, and ooh dang. He's just great overall. But... once you've researched a lot of these guy's backstories... you REALLY feel bad for
them. Imagine this: you are separated from your own body. Your basically a lab experiment gone wrong because all you exist for is to bring back some girl's mother. Basically, Mephiles was experimented on
against his will. He didn't really ask to be someone's science rat. Now, after probably YEARS on endless abuse & torture, you are set free. But guess what? Some hedgehog from the future says "you're
evil in the future, so, I'm going to trap you for 10 years." Now, at this point, you don't have a form. You are now stuck in some black endless limbo. You can't feel, touch, see, or hear anything. Imagine being in
there for 10 years. Yeah, Mephiles is really fucked up in the head because of that. He went insane because of it. Also, Mephiles wasn't really aware of the time shit, once he's free, he wants some damn answers.
He wants to know WHY Shadow kept him in that endless torture for so long. I mean, honestly, would you be all in tact after that? Hell no. Mephiles obviously at this point has developed a hatred for humans, is psychotic,
& has PTSD. He basically low key asks why Shadow did that and Mephiles and he is rightfully PISSED when Shadow says "Who are you?" In a fit of anger, he sent them to the ruined future. Also, another thing I wanna
bring up is, Mephiles basically decided "if the world thinks I'm so cruel & evil, then so be it." After years of anger & trauma, he's finally accepting his "fate" which is... really upsetting once you've think about it. Also,
in the future, Mephiles is pretty old and you can tell it. Which, I think his body is decaying. So, he's gonna clean things up again. Now, this is where I felt REALLY bad for Mephiles. Everybody hates him. Hell, everybody
wants him DEAD. And you know what? Mephiles is erased from existence. Nobody remembers him accept as a monster. He was basically a science experiment gone wrong. Just... damn. Mephiles wasn't a bad guy,
he was just turned into one. He just wanted justice & answers for what he went through.

Metal Sonic: Here we go again. A lot of people either: a) ignore him, b) or just think he's nothing he's a heartless killing machine. He was created by Eggman to be this killing machine that was Eggman's slave.
In which, I think Eggman abused & neglected his own creation. He mentally abuses him & left him to rot at times. Hell, he keeps getting defeated, and defeated, and defeated by Sonic. Who Sonic & his friend's do
leave him to rot away. Metal went insane from his loneliness, anxiety, depression, and his hatred for Eggman and Sonic. If turning your body into this: orig00.deviantart.net/8fb8/f/2… isn't self destructive just to get "stronger" then I don't what it is. Also, it's pretty clear that Metal Sonic has his emotions when he said: "SEE ME AS I AM. NO LONGER AFRAID OF ANYTHING." I think he has a deep fear for failure & being forgotten. Also, you can HEAR the sadness in his voice at the end when he says: "IT'S NO USE... BUT WHY CAN'T I DEFEAT YOU?" He has never won ANYTHING in his long and traumatic life. It's also been shown that Metal wants to be more than this machine killer. Guys, he just wants someone who cares about him. Also, nobody also gives a shit about him & I can tell that he REALLY hates himself because everyone knows him as "Metal Sonic" it's just always a slap in the face to him because he'll never has his own identity. Which is why I think Metal has: PTSD, BPD, depression, & anxiety. Metal Sonic also wants revenge because of what happened to him. Only Shadow has shown him kindness. Aka actually caring about him in Sonic Rivals.

Shadow: Shadow. Ooh boy. Shadow lost everything, man. He lost Maria, his best friend, and his creator. He lost everything that was dear to him because the government deemed him to be "too dangerous" so he was frozen for 50 years. He wanted revenge for Maria & Gerald. However, he ended that y'know... realizing he shouldn't blow up the fucking Earth, and he sacrifices himself. Until I don't fucking know how long, he has amnesia. He forgets everything. He also learns everything at once. Which, much be really straining. We can also see Shadow does have PTSD. He sees these flashbacks. But he decides, he won't let his past define him and defeats Black Doom and moves on with his life. He has friends and he works at GUN now.

Infinite: Ooh boy with this guy. I feel legit bad for calling him edgy. Infinite was just a regular guy who was a leader of a jackal squad who'm he was very close with. He gets called in by Eggman & his squad to protect the ruby. Now, Shadow comes in, and legit, I'm not fucking kidding you, KILLS the jackal squad. Aka: Infinite's family and who'm he was very close with. And also, Eggman rubs salt in the wound and says that they were worthless and he told Infinite to go "clean up their mess". You can tell that he's just... done. He's fucking pissed when he sees Shadow. Honestly, I'd be to knowing some hedgehog killed my entire family and had no remorse for it. Infinite has severe survivor's guilt from it and probably blames himself for not being there & not being stronger. This is why he went crazy and he's so obsessed with being strong. He lost everything he had. He's also really lonely as shit now. Only having himself & the Phantom Ruby.

Now, I wanna bring up: these guys (aka: Mephiles, Metal, and Infinite) got the short end of the stick here. Shadow got closure and close on his arc. Why don't these guys have a reasonable end to their pain? It wasn't fair for Mephiles. Yeah, he was evil and shit, but he was made into that way. Shadow & the people who experimented on him caused the chain of events to occur. Same with Infinite. We don't know where the fuck Metal & Infinite are as of now. Why don't they get happy endings? Why is it that the people who are friends or allies or rivals of Sonic get happy endings and closure and an end to their pain but not the guys who need it the most?
