My first thing for inktober this year was "the old man". Since I'm trying to keep it all "foresty" and fantasy I went with a fast sketch of Perun."In Slavic mythology, Perun is the highest god of the pantheon and the god of thunger and lightning."

I had to google this one and there's a lot of ways he look. Personally I would of gone with the one with the winged hat and the WWE looking belt because this looks too much like a wizard to me. If you never said it was suppose to be this god I would of never known. Still the way you etched the strains of hair on the beard is very good and I like the way you did lighting out of his eye. Good work! ^_^

I'm really glad you went and googled about Perun. The Slavic mythology is not well known but truly interesting.
Many people draw him/see him with the winged hat etc. but I'm not emotionally tied to that version of him since that's not how the ancient Croatian mythology depicts him. Even though Croatian Pre-Christian mythology and folk legends are somewhat tied to the Slavic ones, it's still different and varies a lot. Our old people would mostly describe him only as a big, tough man with a copper beard

I just would of gone that one because I find it unique don't see a winged hat very much if at all lol
