If there was one thing Mikayla loved to do outside of working with horses, was dancing. If she could combine horses and dancing together, she would. The closest was normally dressage, and not often did dressage allow the rider to dress up in gowns or extra decorative gear. So when she was told that the Submerged competition was back and they were given the good to make more of a show of it, like Night of the Horse or perhaps even the International circus festival- minus all the other animals, Mikayla was all for going for the underwater theme. She had the dress designed with the glow of a jellyfish in mind, but suited more towards flamenco dancing.

Therron was the go to choice for her. Not a lot of her horses looked good in blue, and they shared a special bond, one that had meant years and years of working together. The stallion had been one of her best friends through her tough times, even when he'd been injured because of her. Now, even with a long scar on his back right leg and a few hard-to-see on his chest, they worked together in tandem.
They strode into the arena together, Therron's ears pricked forward as he looked across the wide area- not at all spooked by whatever was drifting around in the glass aquarium. Mikayla handed his halter off to Siobhan, before walking him to the 'center' of the arena. He kept close to her side, though it was obvious he knew he was off the lead as he paused several time to just stare back at all the people before trotting to her once more. She bowed to the judges and the audience, before motioning him to go. He did the normal one would expect from any horse, darting off to the corners of the arena, showing off his gaits, bucking every once in a while. A little after, the soft sound of music filtered into the arena, where Mik took that as her cue to start dancing. It seemed odd at first, until Therron came cantering around her in tight circles, spinning in place when she twirled, showing off what dressage he knew and giving a glimpse of just how deep their connection was. She didn't need a whip to get him to do this, though the original training had required it.

It wasn't until they were back at the stables that Mikayla let out a soft sigh, leaning against the stallion's dark side. It wasn't their usual, which meant their success together meant all the much more. She'd never questioned that he would be a good horse, a good match for her, but there had always been doubts of whether she was good enough for the soul bond. Together, they could do anything they put their minds to. Sure, they'd had their rough times. The accident, the following years of little to no riding for the stallion, the re-training where he showed just how stubborn they both were. They were just all steps to being the best of companions.
