Description i didn't think that the artificial fireplace logs
would turn out to be
some kind of cruel metaphor
but here i am,
trying to ingest antifreeze to
deal with the shivers you i
send across
raw clinging collarbones , d
own
clanking vertebrae screaming at me to
let go or i'll melt into your
chest like the snowflake that lost its 6th
arm
and you
know that's not how it works and
i do too.

i                   turn around
                    and realize that
you
            '       re not beside
                    me, anymore

i                turn around
                 and wonder if

you            were ever really
                 there at all

This is stunning a piece. Bravo.

ahhhh wowow i love this so much???
i love the imagery ("clinging collarbones" and "clanking vertebrae" and "the snowflake that lost its 6th arm"). also, i'm a sucker for odd line breaks so i love the "d / own" and the "you / ' / re"
this feels so painful. it's short but impassioned and i can really feel the loss (especially with the strikes through the "you"s). i want to read this every day
