I've been seeing a lot of these little thistles around lately. I really love how the tops are so so soft, almost irresistible to touch, but the leaves below are painfully thorny. My mother would let me pet them gently as a child but only the tops!

This fairy was born out of an intense desire to paint something but with no ideas. So it was totally sporadic, I love the result! The wings have no basis in true to life butterfly wings this time. I was flipping through 'The Deluxe Book of Flower Fairies' before drawing this and The shirt was heavily inspired from it, those types of gentle white flowers make a nice top, don't they?
