No, never. Ref is used if I'm drawing something I never studied intensely, like cars or something technical that I have no idea how to draw.

I still have much to learn, there is always more to learn. But I study muscle mags, anatomy artists like Andrew Loomis, George Bridgeman.

looking to all the details in ur sketches and they look so wonderful, each part look so well done with ur strong lines..
wondering? because sometimes I like my characters has no details so simple, and in another hand, sometimes I love to make it full of details just how the way u do it.. ??
