Kingdom Hearts. I've always wanted to do a picture about the first entry in the series, and here it is.I always remember when they first announced the game and I was hooked on the idea from there. Many of my friends thought it was a terrible idea but I ended up buying a PS2 and the game the day it came out, they changed their mind.
The first entry in the series is my favourite for its sense of adventure and the interaction between the characters. Not to say I don't like the second entry in the series but the overly manic battle system and the whole Organisation XIII plot was a bit of a letdown.
Anyway, enjoy looking at it as much as I have enjoyed creating it.
Done in Photoshop CS6 in around 10 hours.

Haha, very much so. I am very eager to see what it looks like using the Unreal 4 engine and what worlds they put in. I think it's going to be a looooooong time until we see it all.

The first Kingdom Hearts will always be something special. The freshness of the idea (at the time) of melding the worlds of Disney and Final Fantasy will never lose its charm. The main theme--Simple&Clean--is a tune that will forever be engrained in my head. I'll never forget when I heard it (both versions) in the commercials and thinking how cool it sounded. Good times
As for the piece--absolutely awesome. I love how the higher you go, the more solidified the heartless mass becomes.

Thanks, I took a big chance with the background, I was stuck on deciding what to do. The original idea was to add a mix of all the different characters in a sort of compilation, but that hit a few hurdles.
The first game was and still is amazing for everything it achieved. There was a purpose to the journey and there was a slight mystery behind the keyblade, the bond between the characters was great.

I'm just eager to see how the battle system and visuals are going to turn out with the Unreal 4 engine. As for the worlds, I hope they add more Square-Enix cameos instead of focusing entirely on Disney. Even though it's in everyone's face at the moment, a Frozen world would fit quite well, I think. To be fair Avengers and Star Wars could be done to great effect too.
