She is definitely an adorable baby. You're lucky, I would oh so love to work in an animal shelter to do more for these poor homeless angels.

I wish you weren't so far away from South Carolina; I'm actually looking for another cat to adopt, after having to have my Scottish Fold put down. He was sold to me as a Fold x straight-ear bred cat, but he was actually the product of mating two Fold-ears, and you're NEVER supposed to do that, because it's a lethal-dominant gene. He started having a lot of problems last fall, with his joints and rear legs, due to calcium deposits forming that literally locked up his joints, and he started to develope kidney problems after Christmas, then liver problems-all due to the expression of that gene that causes the folded ears. There is absolutely nothing that can be done for them, unfortunately. I love the look of this little kitty, since he looks like he's got some Maine Coon back there somewhere. I've visited two shelters in my area, but both were plagued with cat flu and had a lot of sickly cats and kittens, and I didn't want to bring home something that could make my other cats sick. It can be really hard to find a healthy shelter kitten around here, and most of the older cats are ferals and are usually put down. I've been on Petfinder.org to find a cat or kitten, but sadly, as soon as I see one I really like, I find out it's FIV or FL-positive, or they won't adopt to people who live over 50 miles away, or some other stuff.

right now? we have around 55 kittens...and the worst thing we have right now is pink eye.....i just read in a town 20 min's from mine? that they're destroying lots of kittens....we have a 'no kill' policy but unfortunately a lot of other places can't afford it.
i'm sooooo sorry to read about u'r scotish fold...i LOVE those babies! we had a black with yellow eyes come in last year...she was anemic and soooo skinny...malnurished...we had to put her on special diet and med's and she plumped right up. it took us awhile to find a good home that could maintain her needs. it's sad to know? that a lot of these places are TOOOOO picky about a parent who wants to adopt.

Awe, I would so adopt him as a friend for Capt'n Jack, the poor baby is going nuts with out his brother. I'm just worried it will happen again. I watch Jack like a hawk now.

we've about 50 kittens right now...and some even have been fostered out because we're STILL getting so many and are running out of room! ugh
it's hard to put aside fears when u've lost one baby....i know. i'm sure if u'r interested there are plenty of kittens out there though if u'd like to adopt another.....or even a full grown cat...they're harder to find homes for then kittens are because people want the 'cute cuddly little' cats...........

Yea I know. The two I actually rescued, but not from a shelter. I found them in a box at the mail box in the front of my neighborhood. I think there were other kittens, but they must have crawled out or something.

oh yikes...people have no heart! the kitty that saved my life? was dumped with his sister...by a neighbor...at my place. they said they'd be right back...never saw them again. but if they hadn't? i'd not be alive today nor would my baby girl who is now with her amazing family. rescues and adoptees are the best!

i got pregnant when 'satan' my x husband raped me the day he got back from iraq...and my diabeties and epilepsy went ALL to hell! i was constantly going to the er for help from passing out and having seizures and everything. at 7 months along...i started having severe pains...the hospital told me it was my imagination and sent me home. i decided to slip into the bathtub to try and relax...and got tired. my cat, parker kitty, came in screeching and wailing and hissing and all kinds of stuff....at the water! i couldn't figure out what was wrong so i just was throwing bubbles at him and he kept it up. i finally got a handful of water and saw the blood! when i jumped up he started purring...flicked his tail...and walked out. i'd been bleeding to death thanx to my placenta rupturing!!!! if he hadn't come in and kept me awake? i'd have died with my baby too! she survived and was born 2 months early at 3.13 pounds and stayed in ICU at children's hospital for almost 3 months. but she made it! thanx to that kitty....he's now with her and her new family...i had to have her adopted because of both our medical issues............she's got breathing apnea...was born with 3 holes in her heart...half her lungs and i THINK? she has a bit of downs'. if not for him though? my friends would never have had a baby to keep them happy..and nor would my son have a mommy to love him like i do.

Wow, that's a touching story. My cat Lacey saved my life once when I was like five or six. She's dead now, dissappeared last year, so I think she went off to die in peace. But I got her when I was five and I'm 22 now, so she lived a long time. But anyhow, I wanted to play space ship, and crawled into the dryer and shut the door. Well, I freaked out, I can't remember if I could breath or not. But I couldn't get the door to open up. Well I could hear her going nuts, meowing and wailing like cats do. And my parents were out of town, my grandmother was there watching us. Well she came to see what was wrong with the cat and heard me kicking on the dryer door. I don't know if it was really life threatening, but in my eyes Lacey saved me.

oh yikes...how scary for u! for me? i'd have just fallen asleep and never known. they said i'd lost so much blood that they were amazed i could even stand. eeek. when i got to the hospital? i kept arguing i need to go to another and they wouldn't let me...they said 'u'r having a baby'.......i kept saying i KNOW...and they'd respond...NOW. lol....it finally kicked in and then panic hit. i was alone...didn't know any dr's there...no friends...no family. and i had a 50/50 chance of survival and my baby even less. she had to be life flighted and i had to have an iv of blood while they were doing an emergency c-section. seriously...if that cat hadn't kept up i'd have not made it. i had another who'd wake me from seizures...he'd jump on my chest and nip my nose till i came out of them. my cat now? is just fat and lazy. he only comes out when the medics show up. lol

Wow, that's a crazy story. Its funny how animals pick up on those sort of things. I don't know how Capt'n Jack will turn out, but the way things are looking he's going to be a very watchful cat. He litterally clings to us now that Hitler is gone, and that doesn't always feel good.

lol...he's a lonely kitten...they get used to having 'family' and when someone is missing? they know. odd how that happens in the animal kingdom....but can be cool cause then they tend to watch out more for the rest of the 'family'
