Description How the heck does one draw a wet horse

Pegasi headcanons! Nothing special really. Just that they're quite feathery and look adorable (like this ) when they're wet. (which I cannot draw for my life. I must practice more.)
I also think Pegasi have excellent eyesight, so they can spot small targets from high altitudes. Like eagles!

English is not my native language, so I would appreciate it if you point out any errors!

Aww, cute grumpy Dashie. I like the idea of them having feathers.

I really do like this idea but I don't think pegasi would have the traditional feathers in those regions like the kind on their wings, but instead would have protofeathers (precursors to feathers on most modern day birds) since they can blend with their pony fur perfectly while being insulating and lightweight. The best modern examples of these can be found on paleognaths (large birds such as emu and ostriches etc.)

I don't think normal ponies can flex like that to scratch their ears, though Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy certainly aren't normal ponies! I wish there was more animalistic, primitive actions like that in the cartoon, like brushing their coats, licking (earlier generation ponies licked each other), smelling (smells just as important for horses as hearing) or, for the pegasi and alicorns, preening themselves by chewing. I think it would be a fun little moment for Rarity to correct Rainbow Dash for preening in public, only to see another pegasi preen as well. I find the addition of feathers to the chest a nice bit of fanon. I recall one art book I borrowed from the library about how to create realistic mythological creatures, and it also had a pegasus incorporating feathers on its hooves.

I'm with you on wanting more 'animal-like' behavior, except the preening. My head cannon is that we never see pegasi preen because in their culture it is considered a very personal and private thing to do.

I got that from this fic: www.fimfiction.net/story/85187…  specifically the part where Fluttershy says: "Preening is a very social activity for pegasi, and we usually only do it with close friends or family,"

Mmm. Interesting point of view. I've never read that fanfic, but thanks for the link!

Horses can do that, not sure if ponies can.

I'm also fond of ponies acting more animal-like I think it makes them feel more like fantasy animals and less like "humans in a costume".

Well, they do nuzzle each other, and their ears are very expressive. However, I like that they kiss each other in a human like manner. I think a little bit of humanity makes them more than just evolved horses.

Hmm...i'm not entirely sure what the feathers would serve in those regions, unless it was aerodynamics, but that wouldn't be necessary with my theory lol >>>fav.me/d5vbzar (if your curious about other theories...)

As for the actual picture Pegasi is already plural.
