Y'shaati's role within the Naka'i troop as the 'big sister' of younger monkeys is no easy task. Taking care of other's pups is a big responsibility that requires her full attention. A single mistake can turn the calmest day into a day of terror. Fortunately, among the vast fauna of Amazonia, there exists some very particular and friendly animals that can be of great help to her at times. Gentle giants known as capybaras.

Capybaras are truly remarkable beings, known for their peaceful nature and harmonious interactions with other animals. In the jungle, aggression often prevails as a means of survival. However, capybaras defy this rule by displaying an incredibly calm demeanor. These semiaquatic creatures are capable of forming unique interspecies friendships with the various inhabitants of marshlands and riverbanks like birds, turtles, or even deadly predators like caimans. Of course, monkeys are no exception. Even tribal humans have high respect for capybaras. Their amiable interactions lead them to believe that they embody the very essence of peace. Some tribes also believe that encountering a capybara is a god-sent sign of good fortune. Such nice guys, don't you think?

As mentioned before, capybaras are no strangers to the Naka'i. In fact, it's very common to find groups of them resting and feeding on plants inside Petaity, the Naka'i domain. The good relationship between these two species has existed for so long and Y'shaati can attest to this.

There is a noble tradition in which the Naka'i often take their babies to play with baby capybaras during the summer. The days are extremely hot in the jungle during that season, so it becomes the perfect occasion for all the pups to get to know each other and thus, cement the basis of a good and strong friendship. During her childhood, Y'shaati was also taken to spend time with the Capybaras several times. Crossing a pond on the back of a capybara is one of her fondest memories of those years. And now, as an adult, it's her turn to pass on that bond to the next generations of Naka'i in order to ensure the prosperity of both species.

However, the young Naka'i can be very naughty with the capybaras, taking advantage of their pacific nature like pulling on their fur, biting their ears and playing all sorts of pranks on them. Luckily, the capybaras never seem to be bothered by their hyperactive behavior. Y'shaati feels relieved and happy to be able to relax and drink some water peacefully without having to worry about the pups every two seconds. She could definitely learn a thing or two from such a chill lifestyle.
