The major difference that you may notice is that the hips aren't as wide as compared to the female figure and the ends of the shoulders to the groin create a wedge-like shape rather than an hour-glass for the female. Again simple shapes are used as a guide to build the character and the frame, muscles etc can be exaggerated to create the look that you want. Find pictures of people to use as a reference and study them until you can see the various shapes; this can be helpful when drawing people, either male or female !
