Not really. A small percentage of the moon's mass disappearing will cause an equally small variation in tides.
I'd be much more worried about the tremendous dust storms and tectonic stress kicked up by summoning a hefty meteor to hit the planet.
But whatevs. They've got magic, they'll be fine.
