I have attended the LAVERDA owners rally several times and as Breganze south and everyone loves riding up in the Dolomites....we would get 200 or more owners riding through everyday. A wonderful experience. Our Laverda group would come into small towns and the villagers would be standing out just to see all the Laverda's go by. Massimo Laverda produced what was the first real superbike, more powerful, faster and louder than anything from Ducati, MotoGuzzi, or MV Agusta's 750 SS machines. Breganze and Laverda were the major source of pride for Italy for many years. Winning what was the first official Superbike title that was hosted by AVON Tire company. Massimo's "street legal" 3 cylinder 1000cc bike the JOTA is still a legend today. Roger Slater came up with the idea of creating the JOTA and convinced Massimo to make it a full factory production model. I have a very warm spot in my heart for northern Italy and our many friends.
