Konnichi ha, Min'na sama!!! This is a portrait I did today featuring the gorgeous Amiboshi from Fushigi Yuugi!! Anyway, after rewatching the episodes of FY, I fell in love with Amiboshi all over again and decided that this time, I'd draw him a portrait!!!
In the series, he's such a sweetheart, one can't help but fall for him! And then in the OVAs, he just gets better and better---so selfless and with such a beautiful soul! I did some research online and found that Yuu Watase drew a manga/artbook picture of "Kaika" (Amiboshi's alias) sitting under a tree with an "unknown" girl. Some thought she was Miaka, but most have no idea who the lucky lady is! I myself didn't have a clue, since the girl had 4 slender long long braids down her back, but right after I found the picture online, I looked at the tv where my sister was still watching the episodes and saw---HER! This girl was not only from Sairou (where Kaika/Amiboshi ends up) but is the adopted 'daughter' of the Byakko seishi, Tokaki and Subaru! Well, I just pointed and said "IT's HER!!!!" So I had my heart set that Amiboshi/Kaika would end up with this girl, whose name is "Shi Fang" or "Xi Fang".
Then, yesterday, I received the dvd of "FY: Eikouden" and in the booklet, it states that in the FY Novels, the Byakko Seishi, Tokaki and Subaru, as well as Kaika/Amiboshi, help Miaka and her Seven Seishi as allies together, though in the anime/OVA, the characters were not used in their roles for it, but may only be spotted in brief cameos in the production. Anyway, what made me happy was to hear that these 3 are alive (Amiboshi lived after OVA Pt 1!!! Yay!!!) and it seems TOGETHER. So, this tidbit of information certainly added to my resolve that Amiboshi and Shi Fan should be (and will be) a couple!!!
I hope you all like this portrait of a romantic Amiboshi, who has just finished a melody on his flute to lull Shi Fang to sleep. ^^ He's such a sweetheart!!! (Such a gorgeous guy, too!)
