It's been a while yes, but it's ever so wonderful to see the next trainer from the forgotten team. And man, it's a really perfect one, isn't it?! XD
Bewear and Whimsicott looks like plushies in a sense, like, favorit things to hugs which fits Coqueline child nature. Hihi, every girl dreams of ridding a pony or a unicorn, but not Coqueline, no she dreamed of ridding a big bug instead. XD
And I more than agree that Zorua sounded lika a excellent choice due to it's ability to shapeshifter. XD
...Don't know why, nor able to put my finger on it, but there's something unsetteling when I look at Toxicroak. XD
All in all, a really nice fitting team for the tiny Osa Coqueline! And an even greater job at drawing them all, Miss Shelly! Really well done! >w< b
Got to love Coqueline big smile too, got to love that one and it's almost spreading through the screen~ XD

Hihi, I don't doubt it's almost the same for every team. As mentioned many times, there are a LOT of pokemones to pick and chose from these days. XD
I admit I've not heard much about Whimsicott, I can see the red line of it creating a mess to clean up, and Zorua being a trickster. XD
But Bewear seem to have come up as a very dangerous and more akin to a littrally TANK with deadly hugs, that's one leathal teedy bear! XD
And no, I'm not saying you can't ride a massive bug in to battle. I'm saying it incredibly rare and actually even encourage her to do so! XDD
''Well, toxicroak isn't really nice to look at.'' - Shelly 2020...Toxicroak heart be like: www.youtube.com/watch?v=PhXovo… ... Now I feel for the poor frog, he's beautiful in his own ways~ TuT
I think it's a wonderful team! And bless you for drawing Coqueline with her smile on, because despite all her mischiefs and tricks, she has a good heart and just want to help animals~ QuQ

I had the same thought, go for sweet and cute, but-..Nope! Dosen't work since you need to work in some other elements of character that matches her's. XDD
So if it hadn't been for your friend on Discord, Whimsicott might not have been part of Coqueline's team?
Hahaha! Bewear's to beefy and strong to give hugs. ''Even considered to be the most dangerous Pokémon in Alola .'' ...YUP! I think I got they've got the message across to avoid getting hugs from him! XDDD
Brutapode does look pretty badass, ain't gonna argue otherwise, since you can even ride on it! XDD
Hihi, true, it does look a bit evil and or menacing. XD
Coqueline sees what's on the inside of all of them, not their dangerous-trickster-slimy outside~ TuT

Wasn't that the sort of underline from the very beginning? The sort of human-pokemone companionship bulding and that the ''battles'' were just a portion of it all?
''the reason why some jump at you from the tall grass is because they want to be captured'' Oh, and here I thought they just wanted to wreck my whole team for lolz. Or the countless life sucking Zubat's back in the days, sucking me and my poor pokemone's dry before getting my ass handed to me by God*&%# Gary who waited at the end to just butcher my poor team! XDDD
From an artistic perspective, yes, diffrent sizes does make the artwork more easily drawn...Just imagien drawing a Wailord to fit in to Coqueline's team, jsut a big blue background. XD
And why not buy the most recent pokemone game, instead of moon?

It's possible, been so long since I played it and even then my english was equal to that of the stone age comapred to how much I understand today. Still, the thought of my pokemone growing close to me, as a trainer, passed me by completly unnoticed, I just wanted to fight stuff, lol. XDDD
Apparantly, I mean, Bewear is the very perfect example. Some are really looking for troubles whilst others are down right scary, ''Yamask'' and ''Cofagrigus'' are other example of when Pokemone goes a bit to far in being the ''child friendly'' anime.
Wailord would be a bit tricky to fit in to a picture of the team, yes....But not as hard as mega Wailord evolution! *w* (XD)
So why did you don't you play the game any further than the very beginning? =/

The first gen will always be a little-..Funky. There has been an incredible number of improvement since than, thankfully. But-..'' pokemon liking you was never a hard thing to do, you just had to keep fighting with them.''..Admit that that feels so wrong, that feels like the opposit of a prospering friendship!? XD
There's without a doubt those who've acutally read some of those pokemon descriptions of a ghost-type and actually felt really unwell afterwards.
I think so, yeah, otherwise just imagien what a massive tidlewave said mega-Wailord would cause if they EVER landed in water! >.<
yeah, the fishing part of some games aren't as smooth or easy going. tbh I at times avoid them too, so I can sort of understand why you didn't feel the need to invest anymore time in catching a supposed legendary fish.

Seeing how we had little to no comparison to what is now the ''latest gen'', I think it's still fair to say that it was as good as it was for it's time though. XD
And yeah, I'm liking your idea of bonding with your pokemon. Sending them in to battle is one thing, but taking care of them, feeding them etc that feels waaay more wholesome and nice! Do that! (awesome if they did so in the last gen!)
TBH it makes me think of horse's in RDR2, you pet them, brush em and feed them...And you almost cry and go on a rampage IF they unfortunetly dies...And the media dare say gamers don't care and are emotionaless trolls, I love my horsey she's the best~ XD
Yup, even something as innocent as pokemon has some dark dark ways about them. XDD
Not a blue whale no, but a mega one 10 times bigger might just cause a good solid few waves AND, yes, used surf on top of that! XDDDD
Yeah I understand how you feel about it, there's a limit to how much time you are WILLING to put in to somethings, fishing for a rare pokemon isn't one of those things. XD
YOu wouldn't happen to be talking about the pokemon feebas and the evolution Milotic per chance? XD

Thinking back on the prices for buying one of those cartridge games, comparing to today, they were actually really expensive! Than again, today's parents buy Iphone's for thier kids so...Everything is relevent I geuss? XD
One would think they'd already abandone the whole ''building bond by fighting'' in Pokemone. Like you say, and I agree, there are tons of otherways to bond with them and Gamefreak ought to even make them like small fun events..Think RPG or DnD stuff, like how resting at an Inn give you boost, visiting a spa or some thing as simple as just picking your pokemone's favorit snack. ^^
Agreed! Or when you are using surf and you get's spamed by the same freaking pokemon over and over again..Freaking tentacool's, I tell ya! XD
Haha, really!? Well believe it or not I tried to get it myself as well. But once I got it and after traning it for ages without anything happening, cuz I didn't know who to eveolve it, until I just gave up on him. XDD

fiddee In reply to Shelter-Cat [2020-03-20 22:41:23 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, but if you look back at most games, those that are a few years old by now, their prices has lowerd quite a lot too.
Like we talked about before, about the very early years of video games, considering how ''high tec'' it was to have a game that was small and portable at the time..I think it was some really neat entertainment, and it only grew better as you and your friends could share the experaince and give each ohter tips on how to get this or that pokemone. ^^b
That's true, there are some mini-games that breaks the game experaince for me (lockpicking for example is the most common since it's just annoying). I don't want to spend a game of pokemone doing to much of these mini-games that it takes away from the actual main game, which is to battle and grow over time.
It sounded really complicated, didn't it? Like it had to have perfect beauty and you had to feed it a whole bunch of berry-candy stuff-..AGAIN, ANNOYING mini-game! ASDFGHJ!? XDD

fiddee In reply to Shelter-Cat [2020-03-26 11:27:24 +0000 UTC]
Agree, they were for thier time, these days however I can even feel there's almost to many pokemone to keep track on, like, every time you start a battle you also start bulbapedia to find out what thier weaknesses are.
It's true that the said games would become much much shorter if it wasn't for some of these odd mecanics or extra stuff, but at the same time an annoying mecanics is still annoying. Like I'm playing a game, called ''generation zero'', and in thier latest update they change the whole inventory system build up...Going from at first odd to now becoming a living hell, since the game requierd that you pull up some items mid-battle, as you spend 10-20 second just trying to switch guns or pull out your healing items in a general slugish motion. T-T
Exactly, they could only eat like 10 or so of those candies, and than you also ahd to grow the berries and all that stuff as well. It was such a challange and task reach that ''beauty'' level and for just ONE single pokemone none the less. And even after all that work you still couldn't be 100% sure you'd come out successfully in the end. That's the sort of BS mecanics that people just can't be bothered with. XD

One could very much wonder and ask such a think, yeah. But taking a geuss at it, I'd say it's due to limits of time and space during production. These ''mechanics'' or games-within-a-game, take up less space and as said draws out the time in said game.
The game is a bit like ''RUST'', you know, harvesting and storing things with little to not story line...It get boring rather quick, at least for me, so no huge lose for me in that sense.
According to the bulbapedia, as of Gen 5.0, you simply need Feebas to hold an item named ''Prisma Scale'' whilst doing a trade...

Agreed! For example the first permanent ''move'' (HM01 - Cut), which made it able for you to cut down tress that were in the way, that unlock new paths or a shortcuts. And yes, I think from gen 1-3 (the gameboy cartridges) you could pop them in to ''pokemone stadium'', I used to do that! XD (the ''game boy station'' could even beupgraded so you'd play the game at 3 times the speed, making playing the game really fast. XDDD )
Basiclly, but not that toxic of a community (First you need a community to begin with), and now there's just a vaccume of wating for the next ''major content update''.
Yeah I'm actually gonna second that, the trade felt a bit cheap, I think you shoudl be able to get and train them all within a game without the need of a second party (such as the trade mechanic)..It's a nice funktion and all, but i shouldn't have that kind of hold on the game you know?

Really? I've never seen a speed run of the first pokemon gen...I think I'll have a look after this though, just for lolz. XD
Hard to say, most comapnies of today seem to give out half baked games that they patch over time, which I think is just lazy and horrible really. Than again, yeah, EA is one of those companies who tend to buy up smaller studios and than more or less setting up that studio's game with way to big goal with next to no time to achive them...The game ''Anthem'' is the biggest example I can refer to in this case. =/
It is, I'm not saying the trading system was a completly bad idea, but to lock some evolutions behind it just felt mean. But like you point out, that was the old days, today we have a ''poke-net'' with everyone hooked up to trade far more easily, faster and basiclly world-wide by comparison.
Althought having some sort of trial or challange to achive those a bit more rare pokemones, I'd say it would be awfully tricky, you'd in those cases only create new ''mini games'' (like puzzles, berries and item requierments etc you name it)...Hihi, it's typical, no matter what game industries pick we'll still only complain, no wonder they've got sick and just went down the loot box swamp. XDD

Geuss I'll have a look around youtube when i get the chance, I'm sure there's at least on or two to watch. ^^b And yeah, I know, some people take advantage of the most odd glitches and wall clips to finish up a game quickly...I've even seen people speed run games like dark souls were the end boss get stun locked from using an iteam at the perfect time. XD
Hmm, yeah that's actually a fair point. Although that only underlines the fact that most of us can agree that you shouldn't release a game half baked and full of bugs, but to rather take the time you need until you've got a finished product.
It's both good and ill now that we are so connected to the net as we are, both news wise as you mentions, but also for game to be patched and updated to adjust and fix small bugs and tweaks...I'm just saying it shouldn't be the way to ship out a half finished game to than re-sell fixed and addons that should've been there from the start. =/
Yeah, that dosen't sound to bad actually, it's briliant even. Make it a two way solution were you can get it within single player, making it a little challanging, or as a trade whilst holding on to a ''special'' item or the likes. That way everyone get's happy...Or annoyed, lol. XD
