*tattereddreams posted some lineartsies we could color, and since she's probably my fave artist on this site, I had to color some of her gloriousness.Original lines and description: [link]
This is Isolde of the Arthurian legend, beautiful princess of Ireland promised in marriage to king Marc, but due to an accidental mixup and a love potion, she ends up forever in love with Marc's nephew, Tristan
It's been a while since I colored a night scene. It was fun, and I just hope I did these lines justice! I'm really liking how the lighting turned out.

Nice colouring! I recognized your style in this, although I feel like there's also some influence of the original colouring in this. Not a bad thing at all, of course, this looks great. The colour scheme especially, I like the blues

Thanks - yeah it was hard to deviate too much from the original because looking at the lines I knew I wanted it to be a night scene, and that when I think of Irish girls, I think red hair, green dress....it's odd.
Tattereddreams is one of my faves here too...her art is so good. I want to get up to that level someday.

It is so beautiful, both the line work and your coloring job, the only thing that I would add, since you asked for advice, is that it could have used a bit more contrast to make her stand out more.. never the less, gorgeous!

it's stunning. but it needs one layer of highlights too. there just isn't nearly enough light to balance off the pic, it feels too dark. I love her work myself, and I think your coloring style looks awesome with it ^^

oy. I think my laptop must have a supabright monitor or something because the highlights i put on there showed up really brightly (like the fairy glow is almost pure white)..and now i'm at work, and everything just looks dull.

yeah, I had that too. recently I tried printing some of my artwork and in relation to how it printed, I calibrated my monitor to look *MOSTLY* the same. so now I'm on a less bright monitor, hopefully similar to what MOST people have. this is the pain of digital art lol

doesn't your monitor have buttons around it? if it's on a laptop I think the controls are digital, check out start->settings->control panel... and look for monitor or something.
