MORE RANDOM STAR WARS AU THINGS
This was inspired by an anonymous message on tumblr that mentioned an AU where Padme was the Jedi-turned-Sith Lord, and where Anakin was a senator instead – and then I got stuck on thinking about how Anakin would be either the most entertaining and/or the worst senator ever (what with his, er... lack of patience for politics)
because let’s be real, Anakin would most likely subscribe to the “punch first, repair interplanetary relations later” approach to diplomacy XD (which is pretty much how Vader dealt with politics when he had to??)
with bonus Obi-Wan as his long-suffering Jedi bodyguard?! really, this just raises more questions - how did Senator Skywalker still lose his arm?? how do you draw Neimoidians??

It's certainly in character for that guy. He doesn't have the patience for this sort of haggling, he wants to get things done. But politics is like not of those little picture games, you need to align every piece so you get the right look.

Anakin was a soldier turned politician after being wounded in action. Despite getting a new arm, the promotion was viewed favorably all around... until they realized Anakin's patience disappeared off the battlefield.

This is hilarious. I'm just imagining Ahsoka still training under Anakin in this universe, exceot she's going to be a senator too and neither of them have a patience for politics. Poor Obi-Wan would have two of them to deal with.
