finished sep 18th, 2k8. pencil, photoshop.book and print available here
worked long and hard on this. not how i wanted it, but it'll do. [nodnod] the one in the dress is supposed to be inverted, like the background, but i couldn't get the constrast and dominance to work so i left her white.
the two cats were supposed to be red [left] and blue [right] too, but the colour didn't fair well with the b + w.

This is incredible. What sort of work have you done to make textures so accurate? I never know how to do that...if I look at a picture (of, say, a tree), I tend to just draw that picture, and that doesn't work for making art that's completely original.

RGHHH THESE COMMENT PROPS DRIVE ME MAD. I love it! I wish the cat's fur had more texture instead of just being solid white silhouettes, but this reminds me of an arthur rackham or a ziegfield follie illustration. I could stare at this for ages.
