Description
This is a collar I made, it's got bronze sheet, wire, sterling silver wire, the half rings are all riveted on from the back the designs are all etched in, the big sterling silver rings are held to the half rings with sterling silver wire that looks like barbed wire as in the etching there is barbed wire on the fancy 'v' and i don't need to mention what the other symbols mean, it is all on a leather backing that buckles at the back like any regular collarthis is my baby my very favorite achievement it took several months to complete

hehehe I don't wind my own rings anymore either...mainly because when I was out winding in my garage my kids realized that I couldnt hear them....so I had several bags of missing cookies and lots of broken toys until I just started to buy my rings pre-cut hehehe!

Aren't they very expencive precut? I have some like 12 gauge stainless rings precut but the edges aren't very clean and i prefur to work with silver .. i was going to make a maille bikinni.. not working out so well

I go through theringlord.com and the cut rings really aren't too expensive (shipping is a poo, but what can ya do?) and they have all sorts of amazing metals to work with (I always stalk my UPS guy when I have an order out lol). You can get them machine cut, which I usually do, or saw-cut which is slightly more expensive, but the edges come completely flush. What's not working out with the bikini?

I have no idea what I'm doing... i think im doing a 3 in 1 or something but im not sure how to have it be the shape i want and it looking finished on the sides .. plus i hate the rings im working with lol

That's impressive! It might help just to look ata few tutorials to get an idea of how to shape the "fabric" of the maille
