Description
you guys!!
look at him!
Brought this handsome boy home yesterday. He hatched on the 10Th of October, so he is till a youngin.
Currenty hiding in one of the caves. will give him a week or a bit more to get setteled before handeling him, but am super happy to have him home with me.
He lives in a tub for now, but he will upgrade to a vivarium once he has grown a little and is more confident.
(in case you where wondering: I stuck black adhesive foill to the outside of the tub to help him feel more secure, what looks like condensation is just the parts where the airholes are and parts where i was too stupid to press it down properly. no condensation, no worries!!)
currently not set on a name yet, all though Loki (or Loki Lunguini in full)
id at the forefront currently.
close runner ups are Cappucino, (Mr.)Bean, Sir Francis Snake (idea of a friend), Al Capone, Albus, or Snakey Mc Snakerton
Any preferences of other ideas maybe?

AHHH
A Pewter 💜
I have a Cinnamon YB HGW named Morgana as well as a Dumeril’s boa named Demeter and a Children’s python named Remus.
I like the name Loki! Although, I will recommend real quick that you change substrate to Cypress mulch or ReptiChip as royals need higher humidity levels than what Aspen can provide without molding. Condensation is perfectly fine as long as the humidity is in the 60% range with a range of 70% while he’s in shed. Also, AcuRites are the best hydrometer/thermometer combo to use 😉

Hi! He's a Pastel Cinnamon Mojave, but you are right, he looks very very close to a Pewter! (thought so too when I first saw him ) and they sound lovely! always great to meet other people with the same passion!
Thank you for the tip! I know, I kind of have a problem with the humidity situation. In germany, we currently have 90% humidity
oustide, so 45% to 50% humidity inside. now, I already tried multiple things with ventilation and sizes of water bowls, but whenever I close my enclosure, when I use for example cypress, the humidity shoots up to over 80% and just stays there for days on end. decidet on aspen for now, because then the humidty goes down to like...60-65%. I would be inclined to think that my hydrometer broke or something, but it reads the correct room humidity (according to friends who have hydrometers installed at home). Not entirely sure whats going on there. will def order the AcuRite though, just to be sure! thank you for the tip on this one! am a little nervous that its actually far too dry in his enclosure without me realizing.

Ahh, yes, high humidity regions would make a reason to keep them on aspen, but be careful the humidity doesn’t drop too low and be vigilant for mold in case the humidity is still too high for the aspen to retain correctly 💜 and if you ever run into shedding issues, just let me know and I would love to help out. My Dumeril’s boa was a rescue and has a lot of scars, so problematic sheds aren’t new to me, haha.
I’ve had AcuRites for a while now and honestly they work the best for our enclosures. They’ve worked excellently for us keepers in the US and I hope they work for you!
Also, he would be a Pewter Mojave then Pewter is the combo of Cinnamon and Pastel, so when another single gene is added that doesn’t produce another named combo such as Sterling (Cinnamon + Super Pastel), it becomes “Pewter ___”. Cinnamon is my favorite gene of the Royal Pythons by far, so you chose well!! Best of luck with your little bud!

I'm keeping a close eye on the aspen, so far, so good. The little guy is in blue right now, so I misted yesterday to give him a small humidity boost, so I am extra carefull about mold. I might try to just bake the hell out of cypress mulch/let it dry out, and try that? should help with the mold threat. Got the AcuRites, and it did show a slightly lower humidity, but still in the low 60s. it does seem much more accurate tho, thanks for the tip again and also for the offer. like I said, he is getting ready to shed, so I'll gladly take the offer should there be any issues. I can imagine that with scars shedding can get quite tricky Oo.Glad that she's in good hands now!
Oh and I feel stupid now XD thanks for letting me know, I thought they where their 'own' gene. that...explains a lot tho XD
but yes, Cinnamon in general is super pretty!
