The slender tree trunksDance like ghosts,
Their black silhouettes mingle
with the auburn skyline.
The dark shadows of the trees glide over the ground
like lost spirits
mist envelops their delicate leaves,
the haze blurring their edges.
The trees sing their own sort of melody,
Mixed with the cacophony of unnerving cries,
The birds flutter past,
Their frantic heartbeats strum;
Then there is the lonely silence,
And the sun sinks below the horizon.
