There is a drive screw for the carriage on this one. With changing the gears at the left end, you can cut different threads in the turning stock.

No, I did not purchase it. I have six lathes in need of repair and parts, sitting around my shop already. A hobby metal lathe, a jewelers lathe, a 36" wood lathe, and two 100 year or more old metal lathes. As I straighten out my shop, I will photograph them.
