this was... surprising to see
definitely needs work on the textures, they have no depth.

Really? I feel like more would be too much, especially on his body...

What I mean is, they look too flat. Like in a videogame, when a tree texture has no depth and you can tell it's just a textured polygon.
Think of early CG when texturing wasn't as advanced as it is today, everything looked like just models with textures. No depth to them.
I know bump maps are something you could try, but also learning how to actually texture certain objects would definitely benefit your environmentalΒ renders; should you decide to make any more.
Youtube has tons of tutorials on blender, give them a lookie

I'm very aware of what ya mean. Though textures are kinda all I can do with a comp that's not too powerful. Kinda have to rely on special maps and such. If ya zoom in, you can see the scales, bark and all that do catch some light/cast shadows, but not on the very edges, since it is just textures and not physical geometry; there's only so much "depth" I can give with them textures... Though, I do still plan on doing more, never know what kind of work arounds I can find or come up with for a slow computer.

Hey, if it's computer limits that's totally fine. I don't want to tell artists how to do their work if they physically can't.
It's a good start though.

Yeah... I hate using that as an excuse, but if my computer can't, then there's not much I can do. :,v 3D has to be so demanding on a CPU. Ah hah...
Thanks though!
