Something I drew without reference while at work last week. I decided the initial sketch was good enough to perfect and color. ^_^ And the end result was good enough to edit out the lines from the paper (yes, it was on notebook paper, I didn't have anything else with me at the time). I'm happy with the way that it came out, after line-editing, and I'm of course, really really happy with the drawing overall. I'm usually terrible at poses and backgrounds, and this one has both! I also really like the colors in it, I think they all work together really well. ^_^And okay, the ribbons are a) supposed to be stiff like that, I wanted them like ribbons, rather than like cloths, and b) two different ones. The lower one is supposed to be held by the hand behind her back.
So, I'm happy with it. Tell me what you think!

Thank you! I think it was partly to do with the paper that the coloring is so soft, but I spent a lot of time trying to make the hair look just right, so I'm really glad you like it. ^_^ Thanks again!

That's a very pretty drawing. Love how the clothes are done, and I agree, she does look like she's moving. Nice pose as well.

Thanks!! I'm glad you think it's well edited. I can still see some of the lines where they were, and they bug me a bit. >_< But I'm glad you like it! And yeah, I've seen the Disney princesses so much now that I've gotten used to how they look and can draw all of their outfits and accessories at will. Mostly now I'm just working on their eyes and hair and that kind of stuff to make sure they look like themselves. Eventually I'll be able to draw a ton of Disney characters without reference. ^_^

Thanks! She came out surprisingly well, I think. She was done cause I was bored at work, and I really like her. Slowly but surely I'm getting to where I can draw all the princesses without reference. Belle's hair still messes me up if I'm not looking at it, and Aurora's hair always looks screwy, and every time I try Kida without reference, the real Kida comes and hits me over the head with a spear telling me she looks ridiculous and to please erase her immediately. (And when Kida tells you to do something, you typically do it.) But I've got a few of them in my "I can draw you!" column. ^_^

Okay, I know you like color, but can you stop flipping out about it every time I post something? Is there something you like about the way I colored it? Do you like the color of the background, for example, or the way I colored her hair, rather than just writing the word color in all caps in your comments?
And yeah, I draw my own characters sometimes, but not a lot. If you've got me on your watch, you're going to see a lot of Disney characters, and a lot of fairies. I like the Disney characters, and I love drawing them. And they give me a chance to work on other things like pose and hair and stuff without having to worry about character design at all. I used to just draw random people, but they never came out as well as they do now when I know who I'm going for. It makes it easier for me.

I really like the posing. It looks like she's actually moving, not just standing still for a portait. The ribbons are a nice touch. Lovely coloring and shading too.
