Description

"Sunny" DeSantos is Devon's mother. Her real name is Sun Hee, but the only people that call her by that name are her husband, Javier & her family. She's from Korea moving to American when she was 12. She's very petite in stature at 5' though as she's aged, she's developed more curves.

She and her daughter Devon share many psychological traits with neurosis, but they manifest themselves differently. Sunny's anxieties and imaginations manifests as an almost fatalistic outlook on everything where Devon tends to push her fears down and uses the "Superhero" alter egos she's created to help navigate life's challenges with interesting results.... These two different attitudes has meant conflict for the two since early on. Devon wants her mom to be more challenging while Sunny fears for her daughter, wants her to be less out there" and always fears the worst.

Sunny's husband, Javier is far more outgoing and upbeat than his wife. One would think the two would be at odds, but Javier's ability to not let things get to him has created a bond between the two.

With her petite stature and upbringing, Sunny tends to be more conservative in dress than Devon, but with the same desire for "looks that get looks". She works out regularly, yet complains "it's a losing battle". She is in great shape but obsesses over details, like her face, once young & cute has given way to puffier cheeks.

All in all, the three of them make an interesting family dynamic with Javier being the diplomat between Sunny & Devon.
