Description Cover of a book that I tried to write but found myself going into one negative rant after another in the script about the tardy progress of human space exploration and my frustration. I saw that this wouldn't sell, so for the moment I made a decision to polish up the book cover and put it up.

Earth image is from 'Earthrise' as taken by Apollo 8.

Spacecraft 'Discovery' as a cameo from 2001: A Space Odyssey by Stanley Kubrick

Bucketwheel Excavator extracting iron ore from Mars (front cover) and unloading Moon rock (back cover) drawn from reference of the Bagger series of bucketwheel excavators used in Germany to remove overburden of coal seams. Bucketwheel excavators are one of the largest man-made vehicles on Earth.

Moon buildings are based on imaginative design of Helium-3 extraction plants for fusion rockets.

Mars city as imagined on the right background.

Wikipedia speculates that most of the native gold on Earth sank to the core during the planet's formation before the crust hardened, owing to its weight while the rest are brought in by asteroids. Going to another planet like Mars offers a chance to mine not just iron ore but an additional supply of rare Earth minerals.

There are iron asteroids out there, with a size that could supply our entire demand for any metal for centuries. Too bad that this could also be used for orbital bombardment. So if one day people would mine such stuff they should do it under a single entity or a single organisation to prevent possible competitions between hostile nations.

Really Awesome Picture !

But what if Humanity met with a complicated/sentient/sapient life on mars? Life is not the only humanity knows...

Thank you for the kind words and favoriting the drawing.

I don't really get into speculation of extra-terrestrial life.

What humanity as a species needs to do is some serious multi-level self-reflection before it can go beyond Earth and why it chooses to let its most cutting edge technology be directed towards self-destructive purposes by the psychopaths that run the world.

Or we will just carry our garbage over to another planet and we will yet again blame the planet and everything else for our problems but ourselves.

This issue was why I realized the book could not be done at this present time and so I went ahead with putting up the cover first.

That's Possible too ! I hope no country won't able to go space before the (İf its possible) all countries able to recover themselves...
