First, the anatomy looks really good on the butterfly. It looks really well done, and I love how the strong colors help to distinguish each part of it from the next. The transparency in the upper wing gives a very realistic effect to the wing overall. I like how each color on the upper wing seems to blend nicely together as if light were shining through it, while the lower wing is more opaque as if the upper wing behind it already caught all of the light. It makes it look like it has a lot of depth.

I think the leaf could have had a shadow at the bottom at the point where it curls, and that would give it a bit more weight and depth. The colors on it are really nie though and the way the butterfly stands on it makes it look delicate, which gives a really cool effect of tension and motion in the piece. I like how there are different shades of green on the leaf because it gives a bit of lighting and contrast to it.

I think overall the piece looks very good, and the butterfly itself looks spectacular. The eye is adorable, the flow of the antenna is very visually appealing, and the wings are the right size and shape for its body, which makes the composition really good.

I really like this piece! Watercolor is so hard and I always find it difficult o have so much detail with it. I'll talk about the good things about the painting. First of all, I love the details. The painting didn't bleed much (which I find hard to do with watercolor) I love the different colors of green on the leaf. However, the anatomy of the butterfly looks a little off. If you look at this picture: www.pexels.com/photo/antenna-b… The wings are pretty big compared to the butterfly, I know that this is a different species but I think the wings should be a little longer or making the body smaller next time. Also, the bottom wing I think should overlap the abdomen area (the yellow part) or be lifted up a bit higher so that there's a space in-between them. I also think that the purple wing should have more detail since it looks a little bland. I know this could be due to the scanning, but it's hard to see the background. It looks a little bland with all the white space to the right. I suggest changing the composition next time so that the butterfly fills up more space. Another thing you could do in order to add more detail is by using different mediums mixed with watercolor. With this piece I used watercolor pencils and find them really good for doing details but with a watercolor look to it.   I mixed the watercolor pencils with felt tip pens. Without using pens, I wouldn't be able to put in all of the detail.

your art looks very great! the colors looks very beautiful and i like the soft blue-ish backgroud. Its really interesting.

Awesome job on this. It's really rare to see traditional art these days and the colors just work here. While the leaf could use some work, I think the upper wing came out perfect. Keep it up!
