Description
In one of my favorite myths, Clytie was an Oceanid water nymph who fell in unrequited love with the beautiful sun god Apollo (or sometimes the sun Helios himself). Every day, she would watch him drive his sun chariot across the sky, until eventually she turned into a sunflower. Still she would watch the sun cross the sky, always turning her face towards it, as sunflowers do to this day.
