Description Since there were rumors that discussions are currently in place for a live-action Clone Wars series and my thoughts on what should and should not be done - ultimately it's not like my thoughts will impact the discussions for the show - but I wanted to see what you all think. So the 2nd last episode in Ahsoka where we saw her meet Anakin in the World Between Worlds, with flashbacks from the Clone Wars, many fans since then now seem to want to see the series adapted to live-action.

Now there are many fans that love the idea and many who hate it (a light and dark side if you will) could just be because they hate remakes, or because they just want to see live action versions of characters and stuff - well I think I've come up with a sort of "grey jedi" response. Personally, I think this is an absolutely terrible idea for a number of reasons - the main ones being...

(1) Live-actions of animated shows are usually always a poor imitation, there are upsides to both having live-action shows and animated ones, in animated stuff you put so much into them that you would otherwise be unable to effectively put in live-actions.

(2) A live-action Clone Wars would definitely be shortened, therefore you wouldn't see all of what we did in the animated Clone Wars - yeah, we'd love to see stuff in live-action, who wouldn't, but it's just not really feasible.

(3) The Clone Wars series has already been pretty widely received by fans - a live-action of a successful series just seems like another Disney easy cash grab.

(4) The character development and the storytelling from the 7-8 animated seasons, would need to be severely condensed, due to real life reasons effects cost, physical ability and like actors aging and no fan wants Anakin or Obi-Wan recast just for a live-action CW. Because of that the impact from many moments in the animated version would never hit the same in live-action.

And lastly (5) Star Wars Clone Wars is now canon, you can't really make any changes to the series itself and if you do, there is a higher chance it'll negatively impact the SW universe itself, as well as receive negative response from fans. There is also a minor reason, actors and characters themselves, since Christopher Lee is no longer with us, recasting a Dooku without someone we may very well dislike for the series would be tedious. The same goes for many other actors who are now much older than they were in the prequels - like Kenobi can't have a Clone Wars series without him and nobody wants Ewan recast with a younger actor just for the series and he probably wouldn't want to do a whole series anyway, actors can get tired of what they are in (look at GoT's last season for example).

NOW... with all that being said I figure that there is one way that both fans, actors and directors/writers can have their cake and eat it too, that won't necessarily hurt the Clone Wars, of SW canon universe, but also give us live action at the same time and that is to ONLY do a live-action Star Wars: The Clone Wars movie. Why? you might ask?... Well, the animated movie isn't like the later seasons of Clone Wars, as it wasn't really received positively by many fans (I quite enjoyed it though, always have).
So instead of remaking a popular and widely received Clone Wars series just to be live-action which just won't hold up against the original, why not just remake the unpopular and generally poorly received Clone Wars movie instead.

(1) The film can be a live-action copy, but we can still add more into it to change it up, without negatively impacting the series and storylines themselves.
(2) This way fans and actors and those involved still a live-action related to the series - so they can do a little bit more with Ewan McGregor as Kenobi, Hayden Christensen as Anakin himself and Ariana Greenblatt as a younger Ahsoka without having to worry about things like deaging actors so much for what'd likely be 5-8 years (if not more) - whereas with just the movie it may only take about 3 years max and we don't have to worry much about Hayden and Ariana aging out.
(3) There are still a few characters I'm sure we'd all LOVE to see in live-action.

As for a Clone Wars movie, my idea for it is that we obviously keep the battle Anakin and Obi are in when Ahsoka arrives and we find out she's Anakin's padawan, this would be a decently lengthed scene, seeing them in live action a little more is what many want after all, and have that battle play out on Christophsis. This battle would also lets us see things like Tactical Droids in live action.
Then maybe do a minor timeskip - this way they can briefly show Anakin and Ahsoka rescuing Jabba's baby and also show Anakin and Dooku fighting on Tatooine - this allows the movie to use a small amount of cgi or whatever to bring Dooku back to live action one last time without the worry of recast, plus that small battle they had in the movie is pretty iconic, not to mention would look great visually in live-action.
Then the next scene is present day (for the movie) but here is where they change things up and bring in parts of the 2003 Clone Wars into it - blending these 2 versions of Clone Wars together would not only be familiar but also a change to the 2008 film without messing with the canon universe, but merely adding to it. With these following scenes though, they'd obviously be condensed compared to the animated versions.
So a scene would start with Kenobi in his battle against the Banking Clan in the Battle of Muunilinst, where they can also introduce an old character into live-action and yes I'm referring to the bounty hunter; Durge, as well as some ARC troopers in action again (some red armored ones would be nice) alongside that scene we could have Mace Windu's battle on Dantooine (many keep pratting on about how they want to see Mace Windu again - but given his gotta be dead in canon already, seeing him in the past is the only logical choice and will also act as a fan service). With that there'd also be the space battle scene with Anakin, but this time Ahsoka would be in it - since one of the reasons for a live action clone wars is to see more of her.
Now I'd like to see some Jedi Council Masters in small - not complete battles like they dd with Aayla, Plo, Ki-Adi and that in Revenge of the Sith just to show them in action a little more. It'd be nice to see quick scenes of Kit Fisto on Mon Calamari (and to show Scuba Troopers, Aqua Droids and if possible just to show Karkarodons), Saesee Tiin had a scene in 2003 but had to do with the Battle of Coruscant, I'd specifically repurpose that scene to blend in with the one where Anakin is in his space battle where Asajj first appears, so Saesee takes over that battle (could even do the "jumping ship and claiming another scene") so Anakin can chase after Asajj WITH AHSOKA in this version.
Now while there is a brief space chase with Asajj, we could get another flashback to when Dooku recruited her with Mother Talzan (yes, bring Asajj and Mother Talzan into live action) but also have the scene where Asajj battles a bunch of other aliens/warriors to show off her skills and that - since in 2003 that scene itself was rather quick so won't take up much film time. Alongside that scene, I would change things up from 2003's film and add General Grievous into this movie BEFORE what I would make "the final battle".
With the Grievous scene though I'd make it so it's Ki-Adi and Aayla that lose consciousness and instead Shaak Ti that helps them escape (since Shaak Ti never really got a scene in RotS, plus it would sort of give reason for Grievous' "revenge" killing Shaak Ti in the RotS bts scene) - I'd add in ALL the minor jedi he fought though from both Pt.1 & 2 films but he kills all of them.
Then too finish it all off have Anakin, Ahsoka and Asajj then eventually all jump to hyperspace like the 2003 film and later arrive on Yavin 4 for the big temple battle TOGETHER.

Let me know what you guys think, or what you would do differently.
