Description Commission for ~kislah the last of my commissions, finally! Can't say I ended on a great note though...it kinda looks like her left leg was run over by a tractor...and there's lightsource confusion. The lightsource is comming from the right on the background and the left on the figure. But let's just pretend you didn't notice that. Fact of the matter is, I don't draw horses. Y'know that horse-obsessing phase all little girls are supposed to go through? I missed it completely (I had some sort of sled dog phase instead). Up until about 9th grade any horse I drew looked remarkably like a platypus. Which might explain why I think I only drew a total of three horses in my entire life up until 9th grade. I drew one or two more after that and they actually somehow looked remotely like horses. I'm guessing this one is more or less close, though I admit to having no knowledge of their facial structure, I just did what I could with some quick photo reference.
I blame the other errors (like anatomy and lightsource) on the fact that I was too busy worrying about drawing a horse that actually looked like a horse to worry about other stuff.
Don't ask me what's up with the background, cause I honestly don't know. I had her in a sitting pose, and therefore needed something for her to sit on, and then I went a bit crazy with the shiney floaty things.

So yes, hope you like it Kislah! I'll be mailing out the signed print by next weekend.

The blue in her hair surprisingly goes with the green of her outfit. Maybe the black counteracts it...? Very well done, and it doesn't look like a platypus, so I would say you've mastered the drawing of horses without the "Horse Stage of Childhood" ( I kinda missed that too. I've had a fixation on Wolves without the "horse stage", "cat stage", or or any other annoying 'I must buy everything I see of this animal' stages. My parents are grateful )

the hands are by far the best part. I can't draw hands ever, and these look perfect.

This is beautiful. O-O I especially love the face. And the simple seeming background looks wonderful with it. =3

The face is alright, but a horse's muzzle is generally more rounded and they have more of a little chin thing going on. But we've all taken artistic liberties with those kinda of things with anthro charactors so it doesn't bother me as much. The one thing that I would really recomend(in case you ever draw a horse head again) is that the cheek bone is much more rounded, like a half circle. That I think would have made the head look unmistakably horse(for me at least). But I won't go into more even though horses are the only thing I know how to draw. Hehe.

The hair, eye and eybrow keep grabbing my attention because I think they are so well done. And of course, as usual, the colouring is very nice. Good job.

This is why you don't see as many horse people as cat people. Cats are simple and basic and easy to draw, and horses have hooves and big faces.

*Snugs* Ah the horse... how fun to draw I drew them for about three years in primary school, and I -still- can't get them right!
Her face is beautiful at least, and that's one of the harder parts of an equine to get looking nice
Can I have her gloves/armwarmer thingy-o's?
