The only way I can see this "arc" ending is with her either knocking herself out or being recaptured; because if she runs away, she'll be lost in an unfamiliar world full of vicious predators trying to kill her and he's the only one that can take her home.

It's an old timey insult.
insubordinate means she is disobediant.
vapor is a gas. So to say she is vapor-minded means she doesnt think things through. Her thoughts are scattered like gas.
now, "pumpion" isn't a word im familiar with. Haha.

Aww he sounded so fatherly in the first panel :3. Actually had to google "Fie" and found out it has a Dutch translation "foei" (which we only use when lecturing little kids or pets). I never even knew there existed an English equivalent for that word. I'm so happy to have learned this today XD.

That...is the most eloquent I have ever "heard" someone call another person a rebellious, ditsy pumpkin/squash.
Insults used to be treated as an art form, but in this age they are in most cases no more intelligent nor clever than what resides in a pig's left nostril (don't ask about the right nostril; you really don't want to know)

I had to look up pumpion. We use the modern word as a term of endearment.
