Description I really love mjackson5  's TLP art that I thought of doing the Greek Mythology AU. Now, I am finally complete with the Olympians, who are portrayed by a selection of the characters in TLP. The twelve Olympians are the major deities of the Greek Pantheon, commonly considered to be Zeus, Hera, Poseidon, Demeter, Athena, Apollo, Artemis, Ares, Aphrodite, Hephaestus, Hermes, and either Hestia or Dionysus. Although Hades, was a major ancient Greek god and was the brother of the first generation of Olympians (Zeus, Poseidon, Hera, Demeter, and Hestia), his realm was the underworld, far from Olympus, and thus was not usually considered to be one of the Olympians.

James Brown-Zeus: King of the gods and ruler of Mount Olympus; god of the sky, lightning, thunder, law, order, and justice. The youngest child of the Titans Cronus and Rhea. Symbols include the thunderbolt, eagle, oak tree, bull, scepter, and scales. Brother and husband of Hera, also the brother of Poseidon, Hades, Demeter, and Hestia. He owns a golden chariot that is pulled by the four winds, in the form of horses and Nike drives it for him.

Madonna-Hera: Queen of the gods and the goddess of marriage, women, childbirth, and family. Symbols include the peacock, cuckoo, and cow. The youngest daughter of Cronus and Rhea, sister of Poseidon, Hades, Demeter and Hestia and wife and sister of Zeus. She owns a golden chariot with eight spokes, intricate designs and it is pulled by peacock-winged pegasi.

David Bowie-Poseidon: God of the seas, water, storms, hurricanes, earthquakes, and horses. Symbols include the horse, bull, dolphin, and trident. Middle son of Cronus and Rhea. Brother of Zeus and Hades. He is married to the nereid, Amphitrite. He owns a golden chariot with blue, and white accents, pearls, pictures of waves, a trident in the middle and it is pulled by hippocampi.

Mariah Carey- Demeter: Goddess of the harvest, fertility, agriculture, nature and the seasons. She presided over crops and the fertility of the earth. Symbols include the poppy, wheat, torch, cornucopia, and pig. Middle daughter of Cronus and Rhea. Also the mother of Persephone. She owns a golden chariot with wheat-designs and it is drawn by a pair of winged Dracones (serpent-like beasts), who also act as guards and attendants.

Karen Carpenter-Hestia: Goddess of the hearth, fire and of the right ordering of domesticity and the family; she was born into the first Olympian generation and was one of the original twelve Olympians. Some lists of the Twelve Olympians omit her in favor of Dionysus, but the speculation that she gave her throne to him in order to keep the peace seems to be a modern invention. She is the first child of Cronus and Rhea, eldest sister of Hades, Demeter, Poseidon, Hera, and Zeus.

Aaliyah-Athena: Goddess of wisdom, handicraft, and warfare. Symbols include the owl and the olive tree. She is the patron goddess of Athens and has a heated rivalry with Ares. She owns a pet owl named Socrates and has a golden chariot with owl designs and it is pulled by blue pegasi.

Michael Jackson-Apollo: God of light, the sun, prophecy, philosophy, truth, inspiration, poetry, music, arts, medicine, healing, and plague. Symbols include the sun, bow and arrow, lyre, swan, and mouse. He is the twin brother of Artemis and his followers include the nine muses, minor goddesses who lend creative inspiration to those who ask. He owns a gold chariot with sunstones and it is pulled by four, yellow pegasi.

Janet Jackson-Artemis: Goddess of the hunt, the wilderness, virginity, the moon, archery, childbirth, protection, and plague. Symbols include the moon, horse, deer, hound, she-bear, snake, cypress tree, and bow and arrow. The twin sister of Apollo. She owns a silver chariot with emeralds and it is pulled by four golden reindeer with silver horns.

Jermaine Jackson-Ares: God of war, violence, bloodshed and manly virtues. Symbols include the boar, serpent, dog, vulture, spear, and shield. A brash god, he is the patron god of Sparta and has a heated rivalry with Athena. He owns two large dogs of war, Brutacles, and Sadisto, who pulls his chariot, which is red and gold, has spikes and a blade fixed on the bolt of the wheels.

Whitney Houston-Aphrodite: Goddess of love, pleasure, passion, procreation, fertility, beauty and desire. Symbols include the dove, bird, apple, bee, swan, myrtle, and rose. She was born from the foam of the sea during the era of the titans when Ouranos's blood dripped into the sea. She is married to Hephaestus. She owns a dainty chariot, embalmed with jewels with the reins and it is pulled by pink pegasi with flowers on their manes.

Biggie- Hephaestus: Master blacksmith and craftsman of the gods; god of the forge, craftsmanship, invention, fire, and volcanoes. Symbols include fire, anvil, ax, donkey, hammer, tongs, and quail. He is married to Aphrodite.

Freddie Mercury-Hermes: Messenger of the gods; god of travel, commerce, communication, borders, eloquence, diplomacy, thieves, and games. Symbols include the caduceus (staff entwined with two snakes), winged sandals and cap, stork, and the tortoise (whose shell he used to invent the lyre). The second-youngest Olympian, just older than Dionysus.

Liberace-Dionysus: God of wine, the grapevine, fertility, festivity, ecstasy, madness, and resurrection. The patron god of the art of theatre. Symbols include the grapevine, ivy, cup, tiger, panther, leopard, dolphin, goat, and pinecone. He is the youngest Olympian god. He owns a gold chariot with grapevine and ivy designs and it is drawn by winged exotic animals, usually lions, leopards, panthers or tigers.

---------------------------------------

Elvis Presley-Hades: God of the Underworld, dead and the riches under the Earth; he was born into the first Olympian generation, the elder brother of Zeus, Poseidon, Hera, and Demeter, and younger brother of Hestia, but as he lives in the Underworld rather than on Mount Olympus, he is typically not included among the twelve Olympians. He is married to Persephone. He owns a chariot with bone designs and it is pulled by rare, bat-winged pegasi.
