Oh wow.. you may have been going for a feather but to me it looks like a wispy flower, one with petals that are so thin and delicate you can see through them, growing into a small wooded alclove that's been covered over with moss due to age and the dampness of the surrounding area. Long sentence ^_^

I must say that from viewing all the pieces in this series. This one is my fav. The colours are so vibrant and eye catching. They compliement each other very well. It almost looks like you were trying to catch the effects of the Nothren Aurora(nothren lights)

There isn't a fractal program that will do this. I created a fractal using the program Tiera-Zon, then I altered it in Photoshop by transposing the fractal on top of itself.
