"Never break eye contact."

The creatures known as 'Discordant Dancers' are another denizen of the terrifying realm known only to mortals as 'The Dark'. These unnerving horrors are unique among the entities of The Dark as they are more commonly seen within the confines of 99, rather than the mortal realms. They often appear at random within the games, with an unpredictable amount of them joining in on the "fun". When unobserved by mortals, the Dancers move fluidly through the halls in an incorporeal form, twisting through the air with balletic grace. Once within eyeshot of a mortal however, the Dancers are frozen within nightmarish bodies resembling statues or even mannequins with a twisted grin splayed across their face.

So long as they remain under observation, the Dancers cannot move from where they have been frozen, though they are able to move their eyes and heads to follow those who see them. As soon as that eyesight is broken however, the Dancers will continue their dance until they are seen again continuing the cycle. Despite this, the Dancers are drawn to contact with mortals, as their goal seems to be to spread whatever discordant music drives them to any and all who can listen. They will attempt to surround targets, so that said targets are unable to watch them all. Once they reach their intended target, they wait until they can watch no more before plucking out their eyes. Once the target can no longer observe them, the Dancers will fill their head with the music only they can hear. This "truth" will awaken something within the target, causing them to join in on the dance. For those species with more...limited movements, this will result in violent bodily contortions and unnatural movements.

When the Dancers are around, it is not uncommon to find rooms full of eyeless people dancing to a song only they can hear.
