Nice colors.
Have you tried to increase DE accurancy for better results (but take more time...) ?

Ahem, still learning to use the program and see what effects all the features have.
Have been making some big renders in HR with everything set high. I only have a pentium 4 old scool desk top that makes me watching a wonder grow for 4 hours.(make that 6+)

You don't have to put settings to the max values, depending on what you want to render. For classic mandelbox, accurancy set to 5 or 8 is enough. Higher won't bring significant differences. It will be more effective with folding integer power with low power or Riemann formula, as many parts are very fuzzy (and remain fuzzy even with the max settings). You can also decrease specular to reduce bright wandering pixels and toy with amplitudes. Mandelbulb 3D is very small but rather impressive.
I'm also still learning how to explore M3D without roasting my laptop. Many experiments and tries before obtaining correct renders, like 20 for one deviation. It's just a little faster, metal jewels 2 tooks only 8 minutes.
keep it up, you've already posted very nice renders^^
