Description While my light novel continues to be a work in progress, I figured it's time I post one of the images as a visual teaser of sorts of what's
to come. Here is a visual concept art for my prologue. Based on and inspired by my personal life experience, this image reflects my life,
and my fascination of the "Hero's Journey". And man...what an incredible roller coaster ride. While I was sketching this late night at the
small corner of the kitchen. (Yeah, that's my only work space, it's sad, but that's the short end of the stick I was dealt with) I was listening to
Final Fantasy 10-2 soundtrack, "Eternity Memory of Lightwaves" which inspired me to express a sense of reflection, hence the silhouette of my OC over
a very calm water. The surrounding image is symbolic, and at the same time, is actually a cross boomerang/shuriken type weapon that he learns to
wield in the story. On another soundtrack, I listened to something with more of an epic, adventure theme to it, inspiring me to work on the strip of landscape-rift, through space of planet Venus. When sketching this portion, I was listening to the main soundtrack theme to Frank Herbert's  1984, movie, "Dune".
The soundtrack struck a creative chord in me. Hero silhouette really shares a sense of epic emotion and potential power of embarking on an exciting journey, and I hope that this is the kind of feeling I expressed in this art work.

For the water effect, (As best as I can possibly render it) I referred to a tutorial by an artist, Lady-Tima. She posted a cool tutorial on
reflection in water. Her instructions was so well written that a photoshop noob like myself was able to follow it well enough.
I'm very grateful for her tutorial. It helped me allot. I did the best I could with it, but I'm still learning. I was nervous and excited about this
pic, it marks another victory over my real life oppositions. So, take that oppositions! I managed ANYWAY!! And what?! Ha! It feels good to get this much done. Being an artist is not easy, but where there is a way, I will certainly find it.

Oh wait, let me reiterate more dramatically..."Where there is a way, I will certainly find it..." Hero Pose! XD

Anyway, I can't get too comfortable now. I'm still just getting started. Much to do.

This is awesome! The composition works very well, everything seems to work together to draw the attention to the character. Even though he's just a silhouette, the illustration still seems to tell you a lot about him ^^ The concept that his reflection is his future self is really cool Nice work!

Aw thanks so much! I'm so glad you liked it.

In actuality though, his reflection in the water, is his alternate
reality self. They both happen to be in the same universe yet they
are one and the same. The child soldier is like the inner child in
the young adult. It's a deep concept. Hehe. ^^

Of the three pictures you linked me to, this is the one I like the most.

Why is that? Because I've a soft spot for slightly abstract pictures, in the first place, and because this work oddly reminds me of Dragon Quest.

You say that you're a beginner, huh? Well then, I would like to be a beginner as well, if this is the level I could begin with.

Thanks so much. I 'm glad you like it.
I love using visual metaphors. I've always admired
the classic movie posters that were hand painted back in
the days. Specifically the original Star Wars posters.
They were conceptual, and metaphorical at the same time.
It had that kind of look that made you want to see the actual movie
because of it's visual appeal. And not only that, but you find all those
elements in the movie. Well with some movies anyway.

Yeah, I still have much to learn. All this is a result of me sharing interpretation of people's
art works here online. Hehe. ^^ I study the way people compose their art, their compositions
and stuff, and I try my best to put what I discovered into my own creative application. I take
time to study and analyze art work, and share my feedback with people. I would share how this
work makes me feel, or how that work inspired or reminded me, and so forth, and out of that, I am
able to learn something valuable that I take with me. For me, everyone here is my teacher. I pick
people's brains, and ask what inspired them, or how long it took them to make something, or what
music inspired them to draw such and such. So it never bothered me, if I was to come across an artist
who was better at something than I am, It just motivates me to feed off of them. I can always learn from
the pros. But I also learn just as much from the novice too. I also love reading about artist's success stories,
because it gives me hope that I too can make it as well. So I'm always encouraging everyone to give it their best.
I read journal posts and try my best to help out those in need. It saddens me when inspiring artist disappear from
the online map somehow, and I never hear from them. I want everyone to fulfill their dreams, cause man, that's
a beautiful thing to have. To be able to see your work published and know that it inspired people to want to follow
their dreams and to know that you had something to do with their success, that makes all of us heroes. It's a good feeling
for real. You'll never know who's watching you and looking up to you until you've made it. So it's always important to never
give up hope. What we do with our life, affects the people around us. It's why I firmly believe that there is a hero in all of us.

Hey, man. We have a philosopher here, huh? Nice!

Seriously, I believe that your words are wise. They surely betray a long time spent by introspecting, so compliments, really.

The reflected silhouette in the water is gorgeous! Nice use of diagonal lines to create energy, coupled with the horizontal lines of the calm water. It makes me think of keeping inner peace while the world around is in chaos. It's a thought-provoking piece. Nicely done!

first word that came to my mind: WOW
seriously, I find it very dreamy, amazing in every detail  and very well done.
I like the scenario, a kid who is gonna take a long and difficult journey through space to save his homeworld (that's what I thought this could represent haha)
but as you've said this is based by your personal life experience.

love it!!

Thank you so much! I'm so glad you liked it!

The story is pretty deep and complex. He does indeed save worlds,
only he doesn't really have one of his own, at least not in the universe
he is currently in. As far as world records holds, he doesn't exist. He's
a "ghost operative" in special forces.

Soon I'll post a prologue and since it's fairly short, I might even include the first chapter here also.
I'm still deciding.
