90s X-men for this years con season. My homeboy really did some amazing work on the colors. He also colors my covers on the Fanboys vs Zombies book every month. I guess we make pretty good teamRelated content

I LOVE this piece! Professional grade heroes! (naturally) It says this is digital art, I'm curious what program you use? I have a Bamboo Wacom Tablet that has the Auto Sketchbook Desk and I just haven't mastered using it yet.

I'm glad you like it so much. The line art is just graphite. after I scanned it I e-mailed it to who did the colors in photo shop. I'm not exactly sure what else he uses. When I do color my own work , I normally use photoshop and my wacom tablet. I use the 11x17 one, but I suggest whatever is comfortable for you.

It takes great compositional skill to make a such a busy artwork have a sense of unity. well done, it looks complete and it leads the eye around in such an interesting manner.

I think it was the Pryde of the X-Men video that got me into comic books in the first place. I remember being disappointed that the pilot hadn't been picked up for a full series until FoxKids announced the 90's X-Men cartoon.
I still think of that first season in winter of 92' as the "Winter of the Sentinels" because I'd wake up every saturday morning excited for a new episode only to see Night of the Sentinels part I or II again.
Ahh... memories.

Amazing, dude! Man, I miss 90's X-men. They were fun, cool, exciting and incredible artists were working on them all the time. Nowadays they seem kind of dull, dark, boring and the art quality has dropped. Need to get you on a throwback book!!!

I hear you. I think comics in general are pretty dark these days. It's fun to go back and do some art that reminds me of the reasons I got into this stuff to start with

Yeah. I miss the bright, fun flashy stuff myself. There are still a lot of good comics coming out, I don't mean to sound overly negative. I see an image like this and just get nostalgic. 90's comics will always be my fav.
