any directionCollaboration between *ChrisCold and `taenaron .
It actually is my third collab and I'm very pleased with the outcome. The original concept was made by *ChrisCold . The overall appearance changed several times during the last two months. *ChrisCold was responsible for and middleground and I did the background. But both worked on the whole pic, improving little things etc.
What is it? Ask your imagination...

I keep coming back to this picture as one of the best desktop backgrounds I have. After several years. I love the colors used, especially the little alien writing around the ship, and how sparse the ship/bridge is. How the curves are all smooth, no corners. It's not a cramped, boxy 'modern' design.

I see this as a commander of some form stepping out onto a viewing platform. He seeks an answer to a dilemma, in the view beyond the glass. He asks the silence eternity of space to guide him. His subordinates await his decision. I have the impression that it's a moment of peace, but chaos waits nearby. However, I may have just seen one too many science fiction flicks.

I love this piece! Truly amazing.
While it is far greater a piece than to simply be used as a wallpaper - it is currently my wallpaper @ 3840. It set the mood perfectly! It is dark but not depressing. It is Space which ignites my imagination and eases my troubles. It is Imaginative in its 'bridge' design and technology. The depth of field with the personnel makes me feel I'm on the structure with them. The space features (Planet, moon, star, and gas) provide a very entertaining and attraction to the piece while never being too distracting as a workspace.
While I do agree that the 'cloud' (nebulae) around the start isn't "accurate" in terms of physics - it doesn't change the fact the the piece is incredible and without the nebulae it would lose some of its character. Amazing work!

I have a theory that the machines and computers do most of the work here. The humans have access to details of what the ship is doing (with the very cool looking projections), but they probably don't need to look very often!
Perhaps they are clones who do a bit of repair work and then die off before the next set of clones are brought to life!
