Description
Part 9 of the Street Life series, watercolour/gouache painting approx 12" x 8". I've been wanting to paint this one for a long time. Those two phone boxes have been there forever; two different styles, two different sizes, like his and hers Superman/Supergirl changing rooms

Street furniture is very inspiring for me and the traditional red telephone boxes designed by Giles Gilbert Scott are powerful symbols. The K2, from 1924, being the first and the K6, 1935 to 1968, being the last. Together like this these traditional telephone boxes epitomise aspects of the past still with us yet in a way lost.
I think that this is a brilliant picture.
