Been a while since I've submitted something to one of the dA contests. I was kindly invited to participate again so I thought I'd give the Toshiba contest a try.About the design:
Ahh, my school days, how I miss them. From grade school to college, they seemed so carefree compared to my busy life now. I wanted to capture that carefree and energetic spirit that these young whipper-snappers seem to have in excess, while at the same time depict an image that's completely modern in style and meaning. Hopefully I'm not too behind the times, but I'm pretty sure this trendy style's still considered cool by modern-day youngsters.
Hope you kiddos (young and old alike) dig it.
Oh and comments and crits are always welcome as usual.Done completely digitally in Photoshop CS5; about 25 hours.
Just as an FYI, the "digital" logo as depicted in this image is completely original and is not used by any current corporate entity. It's really just a simple decorative label of the title of the artwork that I came up with on a whim.

I wish you could buy this as a skin for your own laptop or have it made as one, you should look into that and sell them.

Well, I'm a student too, and I don't say I'm carefree because I am rather busy more often than not, but I can identify with the portrayed character for a number of reasons.
It really changes us to study and learn, and leaves something in us that with time it may fade in favor of new perspectives, and one tries to make the most out of it.

I viewed the winners of that contest and was like O_6; "are you serious?! those are all dumb lookin!!"

Yeah, the winners are beautiful pieces, but I do wish they had added more variety to the winning selections. All three have very similar color schemes.
But we'll get 'em next time, eh?

Yep! I cried a little on the inside, and when I saw that 3rd place entry I began to wonder if the right people are judging contests with such amazing prizes. Again, not that I should have won after seeing the other entries, but your entry was easily the best of the top 25 and you didn't even place... it's just really disheartening.
